Built with a musician's frustration
Barisa's Sounds exists because the tools that existed weren't good enough. So Bonnie built something better.
Barisa's Sounds is Bonnie's creation — built from the ground up to solve a real problem she knew firsthand: the gap between hearing music in your head and getting it onto the page.
As a musician, the friction of existing notation tools was too high. They were either too complex, too expensive, or too disconnected from the actual experience of writing music. Barisa's Sounds is the answer she wished existed.
Every feature — from the canvas-based note editor to the multi-instrument playback to the one-click PDF export — was designed around one question: does this actually help a songwriter write?
Why Barisa's Sounds exists
Music notation software has been dominated by tools that weren't built for the songwriter sitting at a piano at 2am trying to capture an idea. They were built for orchestral composers with music degrees.
Barisa's Sounds flips that. It runs entirely in your browser — no download, no install, no manual. You click on a staff, notes appear, instruments play back in real time, and when you're done you hit export. That's it.
The idea, the product, the vision — all Bonnie's. This is her tool for musicians who hear things that haven't been written down yet.
